Lyrics

Artist Reflection

I remember sitting on the river front on Palm Sunday. We just finished the send off rally for the Archdiocese of Baltimore. That night we would participate in Mass at the Cathedral then we would have a concert at a local high school. Frankie Gonzalez, our guitar player, says "Hey I have a really cool intro to a song." After we heard it, we all agreed that it just made you feel good. Frankie says, "Can you guys put words to it?" (I'm editing his very Spanish accent).

It just fell into place. Here we are sitting at the edge of a small river, enjoying the sun. We just started writing about the experience. Although we put the credits as me (Andy Andino), Kiko (Elvin Negron), and Frankie Gonzalez, really everybody had a hand in it. Everybody in the band started saying, "Hey what about this?" Even Dennis tried to show God in a duck but it didn’t work out. (I know we’re strange). The point is that we felt God's presence and we wrote about the experience.

I'm so blessed to be around a bunch of people that keep our God in their hearts. It's not easy being in a band. In order to survive you have to have more than friendship with each other. There has to be a common bond and commitment to something higher than you. God is good and we all understand that. We all want everyone to know that. Pray for us that God constantly works in our hearts and helps us not to be just good writers, but great followers of God. I want be as transparent as the wind, as innocent as a child. I want to experience God in all his/her glory and share the experience.
